A wonderful day at Hochanda

Hi everyone!

I had a fun day at Hochanda last week on Friday, 3 shows using Decoart products and a very early start, arriving at the doors for 6am!!

By 7am the set was finished and ready to go live at 8am, the guys at Hochanda are always so helpful, big thanks go out to them.

For my first and second shows I had Leonie Pujol presenting,  it's always fun, and laughter was had throughout the shows!

It seems to be a rule now that when I am on embarrassing pictures are emailed in and put on screen for all to see lol

Finally the day was finished of with an Italian meal with a lot more laughs!

Hochanda Shows with Decoart Vintage effect washes!

Happy Easter monday to you!

I am preparing for 3 shows on Hochanda this Friday 21st April using some of the new product
releases from Decoart.

One of the featured products is the all new Vintage Effect Washes, these transparent pickling washes can be used on raw and finished surfaces. Their transparency gives users complete control over the colour intensity and amount of weathering in order to customise vintage effect projects to suit personal styles.

I have been combining these with Decoart Chalky Finish paints and Decoart Americana Decor Metallics,  they work together wonderfully!

Pictured below is a raw wood candle sconce that I painted with Chalky finish, followed by a few layers of Vintage Effect Washes and finished of with some of my Stampendous rubber stamps.

Next up is this Papier Mache frame using the Americana Decor Metallics and Crackle medium along with a few other techniques that can be seen on Fridays shows.

And finally this wooden chest box, all of these techniques and new products will be covered on the shows!

Ministry April 2017

Just got back from a fantastic weekend at Ministry of Mixology UK. This was our fifth event and probably our most successful yet - they seem to get better and better!

It was lovely to go this time as a visitor rather than a teacher, as I got to chat to lots more of the guests and see the workshops from the other side. There was also a lot more time for shenanigans!!!

We had 70 students attending and our tutors this time were Kate Crane and France Papillon, who both created gorgeous projects that everyone seemed to love.

They were joined as usual in the evening by our volunteer demonstrators - with seven 'make and takes' to choose from this time, from Mark Gould, Nikki Killinger, Dee Adams, Hannah Oxberry, Suz Humphreys, Di Oliver and my long-suffering daughter, Jade Trickett.

And finally... did I mention shenanigans??? This MoM fell around the time of Jade's birthday so Craig (AKA Creg - ask Tracy Weinzapfel) and we did the dance of the sugar plum fairies for her entertainment (and no doubt embarrassment!).
