The Inner Glow

Sorry it's been a while, I have been working very hard on the Outcasts workshop as well as everything else and finding time to put a post on blogger this past week has been difficult.
I have however posted a few pics to my Facebook page as it's quick to do but that's about it.
Today I made a video for the Outcasts workshop explaining techniques on how to get that inner glow, I love this technique especially on book covers.
The book below has a plaster texture which has been stamped into and finally given the inner glow paint technique.

This book has the same technique using different colour washes.
Next up are a couple of paperweights, also made for the Outcasts workshop… Halloween is coming up and this combined with my love for the dark side made these a must!
That said…… they can also be made with cuddly bears and butterfly's if you so wish!

Next are a few books covers using simple image transfers, these have been combined with Decoart's two step Perfect Crackle and then distressed.

Finally I want to show you this awesome little Grotesque, he has been made from earthenware clay, I then painted him with Decoart Traditions acrylic paint… He now cries rust bless him!! …. lots more to come from this little cheeky chappy!

Take care,

  1. Fabulous creations Andy, the fading skulls are just a knockout as are the paperweights, heck I love them all LOL Gay x

  2. ALL of them are just gorgeous! Am so jealous of everyone doing this workshop - just not the right time for me. Hopefully I'll be able to do it later when you re-open admission :)

  3. Everything as usual is great but I have to say that sad little Grotesque is my favorite. He looks like he needs a hug!

Looks like it's going to be an amazing workshop. Wish I could go!

  4. Fabulous pieces Andy. I am looking forward to the technique days in Wantage.

  5. OMGosh, the "inner glow" look is very cool! I like the book covers, especially favoring the Carnival and crackled Angel bookcovers. Love, love, love every detail of the Grotesque and I want him! He is sooo cute! :)

  6. Just thought of something ... scary, huh? Seriously, when you design another stamp set, how about bringing us one of the above Grotesque? Oh, yah! I'd love it! :)

  7. I love all of these. So darn clever.
    Hugs Joanne xx

  8. Wow Andy, these are wonderful. I love the look of your 'inner glow' technique. The two things I love best here are that little book with the angel (I could give it a very good home if you're looking to have it adopted!) and the little grotesque - he's not cute but he is if you know what I mean!
Thanks for a fab workshop at the Craft Barn last Sunday and I'm still painting samples!

  9. These are fab!! But then whatelse would I expect! You are at these pieces! Trace x
