Mechanical Fish

Hi all,
Here's a little piece of wall art with some mechanical elements that I had a lot of fun making!
Here's what two of the layers looked like at the start......
I used lots of elements from Andy's greyboard kits: 'Tagtastic 2' and ' Industrial Shabby Tag'. You can see all his kits here.  I even used the 'waste' piece as a mid layer! Crackle paint and Snow Tex gave lots of texture. Decoupage glue and Heavy Gel Medium worked a treat, and the Media Fluid Acrylics were gorgeous to use as always.
You can see the Crackle Paint with the Antiquing Cream better in this pic. And the Snow Tex with Metallic Lustre on top.

Some Rusty wire and metal cogs and hey presto!
For a really detailed tutorial on how I made this, have a look at my blog here. Thanks so much for looking! Here's another close ups, plus a pic of the products used.
Products the rusty wire, cogs and a bit of chain to hang up the artwork.

  1. Suz, I am totally in love with this mechanical fish! The crackle background is superb and I love all those cogs! Hugs, Anne xx
