Grungy Canvas Board - Brenda Brown

Hi, Brenda here with a 'Handle With Care' project. I love creating timeworn, shabby and vintage styles and often the genres get mixed up when I'm experimenting or playing with new ideas. Although this has an Andy vibe where I've used his images and products I think this has more of a grungy shabby appeal. I just love mixing it all up to create something a little different.

This is a layered chipboard design with industrial wings, layered with a greyboard pane and a greyboard medallion, so you can imagine the height of the three together.

The bird was embossed in black and coloured in before I did the background using the brow, black and cream palette of colours.

The industrial wings have been textured and given that rusty timeworn appearance.

The medallion was created with a greyboard circle and triple embossed with aged silver and stamped with cobalt archival ink. Check out Andy's Curiosity set of stamps to find the design.

The background has that real shabby feel to it with the neutral colours.

I often add an easel to a smaller panel so the project can stand on a shelf.

There are more photos and details over on my blog.
Thanks for stopping by.
