Morning all Fiona here with my latest project which I must say was inspired by Carol Findon whom I'm sure you all know. Carol created the most wonderful Dragon Eyes recently and it inspired me to give it a go too. ( Thanks Carol )
I started by applying a patina effect background using decoArt Media Fluid Acrylics to one of Andy's Tags from his Tagtastic 2 Kit . The edges were then given a swipe with DecoArt Metalic Lustre in Burnished Brass.
Rust effects were applied using DecoArt Texture Sand Paste and Media Fluid Acrylics to a Diamond cut from Tando Grey Board and a Bookplate from Andy's Industrial Elements set.
Also cut from Tando Grey Board were the little triangles surrounding the focal point to which nuts were added Then given a worn aged metal feel.
The focal point was created by triple embossing a circle of grey board one of the waste pieces from Andy's kits ( never throw anything away you never know when you might find a use for it ) and whilst still molten stamped into with a stamp from Andy's Curiosity Stamp Set.
The Dragon Eye was then created and set into an antique bezel. Finally the word mysterious was stamped using Andy's Word Up and numbers set given a light wash of quin gold and once dry embossed with clear embossing powder. All elements were then assembled using off cuts of Grey board to raise and give depth to the piece,
Here's a close up of the Detail.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this project.
Until the next time!
