Industrial Steampunk Tag- Fiona Randall

Morning all, today I thought I'd share my latest project an Industrial Steampunk tag,
Using Tagtastic 2, So Call Me Already and Industrial Clock face/ Not to mention utilising
Andy's Illusionary Artists Stamp Sets Tech Trauma and Word Up and Numbers.

I started by giving the tag a base coat of  DecoArt Media Tinting base followed by a coat of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Titan Buff. I then added washes of Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna. Then Cobalt Turquoise Hue mixed with a little Veridian in a spray bottle was sprayed over the tag. This gives lovely bluish/ Green tones. The tag was then stamped using Andy's Tech Trauma stamps with black archival ink. To finish the edges were then swiped with Potting Soil Archival ink.

The Industrial clock face was given one of Andy's Rust treatments and set aside.

Next up the phone dial was given a base coat of  DecoArt Chalky finish in Relic. Then a Patina effect was added by mixing DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Phthalo Green Blue and Phthalo Blue to get a lovely Turquiose shade. This was then added to a mini mister bottle and a little water added then sprizted over the Phone dial and whilst still wet dabbed with a sea sponge in places to give a worn mottled effect.

The number card for the phone dial was given a dirty wash treatment and stamped with Andy's Illusionary Artists Word Up and Numbers stamp set. All pieces of the phone dial were then assembled and attached to the tag base along with the industrial clock face which had been cut in half to attach to the side of the tag.

Here's a close up of the Detail.

Thanks for stopping By Today.
Fiona.

Sci - fi Fossil - how to change the look of your stamp!

Hi all

For todays post I'm bringing you a little sci-fi person! I've used Andy's Ammonite stamp on calico, DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics, decoupage glue, inks, pens and a gem!
For the main image I took Andy's Ammonite stamp from his Fossil set (you can see the range here), added my own design (for a full YouTube tutorial on how I did it, have a look here.....)
I used washes of paints, added definition with pens and a gem.

The background for the sci-fi person is a 7x5 inch upcycled canvas board with lots added to it, modelling paste, paints, gems, rusty wire, and some embellies...have a look at my blog for the full details!

Here's another way to use the same fossil stamp!
The background for this tag was a mixture of decopaged paper, paint, stampendous embossing enamels and more stamps. The main image is created in the same way as the sci-fi person, just a different design.
The final project, this 8x8 card again using the same technique for the main image. The card blank was stamped with dye inks and the fossil all the way around. Layered up with fabrics and upcycled cereal packet, scraps of cloth and some jazzy thread.
There is a detailed step by step for the canvas background for the Sci-Fi person on my blog (click here). And a detailed YouTube tutorial on how I designed the Sci-Fi person, transfering my altered design onto my project and how I painted the shaded detail on all 3 projects here.

Distressed Key Cabinet by Monika Maksym

Hi!
I hope you are well.
Today I wanted to show you my latest project, which is a little bit different then usually ( no rust this time ;))

To decorate my wooden key cabinet I've started with lots of chalky finish paints layers, sanding and distressing .

Modeling paste was scraped through Decoart French Elements stencil, painted over and then aged with Antiquing Cream.

I have also used Weathered Wood medium for peeled paint effect.

I've stamped my cabinet with Archival Ink, and finished it off with varnish to protect the surface.

Thank You for stopping by, I hope You've enjoyed my post.

Monika, x

King Spook and Flowers plaque

Hi it's Brenda here with a plaque that includes some flowers!!!! What on Andy's blog I here some of you say? Well .... yes why not?

The backing is a piece of mountboard and I used the arched frame from Andy's Sacred Secrets set.

I used Bubbalux Craft Board to die-cut the flourish, added some rusification and then heated it to change it's shape to fit the space on the project. This product is like a foam but provides tough, rigid and durable end results. It can be cut, heated, embossed, shape, painted, die-cut and more.

The mountboard has lots of watery layers of media acrylic paints, it has been stamped and stenciled with crackle paste.

When the crackle paste was dry I used some antiquing cream to change the colour.

The background for the arch was sealed with gesso, spritzed with water, painted and stamped with the Moroccan window from Andy's Gothic Grunge set. I painted in some watery media acrylics to bring it to life.

The frame has been crackled, antiqued and distressed.

The flowers were made from watercolour paper and again dipped and dripped and dried with Quinacridone Gold media acrylic, stamped and inked to get this grungy look.

More detail can be found over on my blog, Bumblebees and Butterflies, if you want to try out any of the techniques

Thanks for popping in to take a look today.

hugs Brenda xxx
