Vintage Plaque- Fiona Randall

 

 

Morning all Fiona here and I've gone all Vintage for my latest project

 using Andy's new rice papers aptly named Vintage!

 

 

I decided to create a Layered plaque using Tando Grey Board and Long tag and also the frame from Andy's Industrial Elements set. I gave the backboard and frame a coat of Andy's Artist Pigment Paint in Payne's Grey ( one coat was all it took as these paints are very high in pigment and gives great coverage ). next I applied Cosmic Shimmer crackle glaze to the backboard and frame and when dry applied a coat of Cosmic Shimmer Chalk paint in white to both backboard and frame and watched as the lovely cracks appeared. I then distressed the edges of the frame and backboard before giving them both a wash of paynes grey to tone down the starkness of the white. Next up I applied a coat of white gesso to the tag and frame insert and dried with a heat tool. I then applied the vintage rice paper to the tag using a 50/50 mix of quick grab glue and water and applied and smoothed out with a collage brush. For the frame insert I applied Andy's French Fancy Mixed Media Transfers and then a wash of Payne's Grey Artist Pigment Paint. I then gave the backboard some extra shading to the edges with Payne's Grey applied with a sponge. Finally I layered  up everything with off cuts of grey board to the back board base to give depth and dimension.
