Grungy Tag- Fiona Randall

Morning all I'm here with a grungy Tag 

and my favorite Moth stamp from one of Andy's previous releases. 

Layers of paint were dripped and drabbed  on a Tando Tag and heat dried in between until I got the look I was Happy With. Next Up some stamping using Andy's Vintage background stamp with black archival ink and the edges of the tag inked too. Structure paste was applied with a stippling brush to one of Andy's cogs from his Industrial Elements set. Once dry two coats of Andy's Artist Pigment Paint in Paynes Grey was applied to give a dark Tarnished Metal Effect. A bookplate and a Gasket Ring from Andy's Industrial Elements set were given different Effects with resist stamping and normal ink stamping with the vintage and pebble Beach stamps befor a wash of Quinacrodone Gold Artist Pigment Paint applied. All elements were then layered up onto the tag base with off cuts of grey board to give depth and dimension. Finally the Gypsie Queen moth was stamped and coloured with washes of Prussian Blue for the wings and Raw Umber for the Body. This was the attached to the layered cogs as shown.

Mandala Magic- Fiona Randall

 

 

Good Morning Lovely People. I am sharing a project with Andy's fabulous new release with Creative Expressions. There are some fabulous new stamps and stencils in the range and I have used just two of them in this project.

 

 

 

I decided to create a Mandala Panel using a Tando grey board base cut to size.

 This was then given a coat of Black Gesso.

 The four corners were then given the stencil treatment using Andy's new Mandala  stencil.

The borders were then doodled with a white Posca Paint Pen.

 For the centre tiles I used four  Tiles created from  Tando grey board cut to size to fit within the panel.

 These were then given a coat of white gesso. Once dry Andy's Cosmic Shimmer Artist Pigment Paints in Yellow and Magenta were applied using a brayer.

 The tiles were then stamped  using Andy's new stamp Stonewash in Cosmic Shimmer white chalk paint..

 Next step was to tape all the tiles with masking tape on the back to create one large square.

 I then stamped Andy's new Mandala Stamp with black Archival ink in the centre.

The masking tape was removed from the back to reveal four separate squares again which were then inked around the edges to define.

 The tiles were then attached to the panel with off cuts of grey board to give depth and dimension to finish.

A simple but effective piece of Wall Art using minimal supplies that most of us have in our stash.

Old Skool- A Fishy Tale- Fiona Randall

 

 

Good Morning how's everyone doing? Hope you are all well and keeping safe.

here's a little something from me Using Andy's New Rice Papers and his New Stamps.

 

 

I decided to create an A4 plaque to hang on my wall. The base is MDF and the Rice Paper from Andy's  Floral Grunge Set was applied to the grey board substrate. Splatters of paint were then applied using the gold pearlescent paint from the Creative Expressions  Kaleidoscope Jade Garden Set. Andy's Abstractrion Rice paper was the added to the fish edges inked and stamped with Andy's latest release stamps Memories of India and Artists. Once complete the fish were added to the substrate base with off cuts of grey board to give depth and dimension. The sentiment was stamped and applied. To finish the whole piece was then mounted onto the MDF base.

Sugar Skull Wall Art Plaque- Fiona Randall

Morning all Fiona here with a project using Andy's New Release and Previous Release Stamps and Image Transfer Sheets to create a fun piece of wall art.

I started by giving a piece of Grey Board ( 5x12 ins) a coat of grey chalk paint and then stamped all over with Watering Can Archival Ink using Andy's Distressed Wallpaper Stamp ( I absolutely this adore this stamp). Next up I cut three squares of grey board gave them a coat of tinting base and applied distress oxides and spritzed with water to create the feel of aged paper.

I then created a master board onto cardstock using distress oxides and stamped the sugar skull from Andy's new release and the moth twice from Andy's previous release with archival ink and fussy cut. The squares were then given decoration using Andy's Image Transfers from the Poe Diversity and the French Fancy sets. The squares were then attached to the background base using off cuts of grey board to give depth and dimension. The skull was then attached to the centre square using an off cut of grey board to raise. Then the moths applied at jaunty angles to complete the piece. I hope you like this as much as I do. Cog Compendium - Fiona Randall

Morning all today I'm sharing a grungy steam punk Wall  Art piece using Andy's Compendium Kit.

I started by applying embossed cardstock to the MDF base from the kit and then applied a base coat of DecoArt Raw Umber Media Fluid Acrylic. Burnished Brass Metallic Lustre was then applied to the base to highlight the embossed design and also swiped along the edges for definition then buffed to a shine. Watered down  Patina Antiquing Cream was then spattered across the base then repeated with Titanium White and Metallic Gold Media Fluid Acrylics.

The cogs and bookplate all had DecoArt Texture sand paste applied and set aside to dry. DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Metallic Gold was applied to the clock face then a coat of DecoArt Antiquing cream in black was applied and wiped back to give an aged and tarnished effect. The same treatment was applied to the two large cogs, small cog, porthole, bookplate and bolts and screw heads. The remaining large cog and three medium cogs were given Andy's rust technique.

All elements were then assembled onto the  base and spattered with watered down Patina Antiquing Cream.

 Finally the word TIME from Andy's Illusionary Artists Word Up and Numbers stamp set was stamped onto card and attached to the back of the bookplate then attached to the base.

This is a great little kit and I haven't used all the elements it contained. So plenty left over for another project.

Industrial Steampunk Tag- Fiona Randall

Morning all, today I thought I'd share my latest project an Industrial Steampunk tag,

Using Tagtastic 2, So Call Me Already and Industrial Clock face/ Not to mention utilising

Andy's Illusionary Artists Stamp Sets Tech Trauma and Word Up and Numbers.

I started by giving the tag a base coat of  DecoArt Media Tinting base followed by a coat of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Titan Buff. I then added washes of Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna. Then Cobalt Turquoise Hue mixed with a little Veridian in a spray bottle was sprayed over the tag. This gives lovely bluish/ Green tones. The tag was then stamped using Andy's Tech Trauma stamps with black archival ink. To finish the edges were then swiped with Potting Soil Archival ink.

The Industrial clock face was given one of Andy's Rust treatments and set aside.

Next up the phone dial was given a base coat of  DecoArt Chalky finish in Relic. Then a Patina effect was added by mixing DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Phthalo Green Blue and Phthalo Blue to get a lovely Turquiose shade. This was then added to a mini mister bottle and a little water added then sprizted over the Phone dial and whilst still wet dabbed with a sea sponge in places to give a worn mottled effect.

The number card for the phone dial was given a dirty wash treatment and stamped with Andy's Illusionary Artists Word Up and Numbers stamp set. All pieces of the phone dial were then assembled and attached to the tag base along with the industrial clock face which had been cut in half to attach to the side of the tag.
